PROGRES: Sugar Hill’s pedestrian bridge is about to rise

Sugar Hill officials have talked about building a pedestrian bridge over State Route 20 for years, and now the crossing is about to become reality.

In a recent update from the city, Sugar Hill officials said construction on the ramps for the L-shaped bridge at Stanley Street is expected to begin soon. Officials are aiming to have the bridge finished by the end of the year.

One of the bridge’s ramps, on the north side of State Route 20, is expected to begin construction within the coming weeks. Shop drawings, which are final drawings used by construction crews to build a project, are being drawn up for the ramp that will be built on the south side of Highway 20…
