MONROE TOWNSHIP, MI — As teens, Sean and Ashley Mackey enjoyed the live auctions at Ida Auction House. Now, they are running their own live auction business.
In August of 2025, the couple opened Mackey’s Auctions & More in units H40 and H50 at 14750 LaPlasisance Road in Monroe Township, in the former Monroe Factory Shops/Horizon Outlet Center.
“My husband, our kids and I moved back to Michigan (in 2022). My husband was in the Army,” Ashley Mackey said. “We were brainstorming different businesses to start, and people told us that what Monroe County could use is an auction that was live and not online, since the great Larry Hamblin, who owned Ida Auction House, had recently retired (after 50 years).”…
