CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The bench trial for the Marion father who killed his five-year-old son started Tuesday – with Matthew Schleier’s attorney using an insanity defense.
Schleier’s wife testified that they tried to get her husband hospitalized for suicidal ideation leading up to the death of their son.
