Two men shot in Lafayette during Mardi Gras altercation

LAFAYETTE, LA. (KLFY) — Two men were shot in Lafayette on Mardi Gras afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred in the area of the 200 block of East Clinton Street around 4 p.m. According to police, the two men were involved in an altercation, then a bystander got involved to break up the fight.

One of the men allegedly pulled a firearm and shot the bystander who tried to intervene. The two men allegedly continued to struggle over the weapon which resulted to in the gun being fired and another the suspect injured, policed…
