TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA/KSWB) – If you’ve bought gift cards from Costco recently, you may be in possession of some worthless pieces of plastic, though the warehouse retailer is offering support.
California-based Synergy World announced last month that it was winding down operations and filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, according to Nexstar’s KSWB/KUSI. The third-party company, which distributed restaurant gift cards, told customers that they had through January 31 to redeem the cards, which led to a flood of cardholders using up their remaining balance.
