Nevada Weather Alert: 6 Inches of Snow and Slick Roads in Reno-Carson Area From 4 AM Thursday

Reno, Nevada – Slick roads and accumulating snow will impact the Reno-Carson City-Minden corridor beginning at 4 a.m. Thursday as a renewed round of snow spreads across western Nevada and the eastern Sierra.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, a Winter Weather Advisory runs from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. PST Thursday for the greater Reno area, including Sparks, Verdi, Gardnerville and Virginia City. Valley floors could see up to 3 inches of snow, while foothill communities above 5,000 feet may receive up to 6 inches. Wind-prone stretches of U.S. 395 and I-580 could experience gusts up to 30 mph, reducing visibility during heavier bursts…
