ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Over $75,000 in donations have been raised for NEWS10’s Pet Connection in honor of pet advocate Lisa Caporizzo. Lisa, the wife of retired NEWS10 Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo and one of Pet Connection’s biggest inspirations, passed away on January 14 following a battle with cancer.

After Lisa’s passing, Steve asked that people make a donation to their favorite shelter, rescue or to Pet Connection instead of sending memorial flowers. On Wednesday, Steve said he went to the bank and deposited all of the cash, checks and other donations he received.
