ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — An Asheville attorney who assisted with Jesse Jackson’s presidential campaign is remembering the late civil rights activist for his life’s work and the legacy he leaves behind.
Rev. Jesse Jackson ran two historic campaigns for the Democratic presidential nomination in both 1984 and 1988. Jackson is recognized as the first Black man in the nation to mount a competitive, major-party campaign for the presidency in 1984.
