DECATUR, Ind. (WANE) — Officials in Adams County are considering converting the gymnasium at the Adams County Service Complex, commonly known as the Annex, into a new courtroom and office space, a proposal that has raised concerns among residents who use the facility for local programs.
The Annex, a former high school that has housed county offices for decades, is being evaluated as a potential new home for the county’s Superior Court and probation department. Those offices are currently located in Decatur’s old Carnegie library building, which county leaders say is aging and increasingly unsuitable for court operations due to maintenance and security concerns.
