ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A neighbor is relieved after hearing the plans for two Southwest Fort Wayne quarries are being tabled.
The withdrawal from these quarry projects is not the result of the neighbors’ feelings about them. Heidelberg Materials was trying to rejuvenate an old quarry project off Yohne Road and start a new one off Lower Huntington Road. However, the company pulled the project applications from Wednesday’s Allen County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting.
“It was an internal business decision,” said employee Sean McAffrey. “We’re just going to save that for a later date.”…
