A local man charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and domestic violence was sentenced to 426 days in jail and three years probation on February 16 in Ottawa County’s 20th Circuit Court.
Judge Karen Miedema said Angel Vazquez, 31, has already served 426 days. In January, the day before his trial was to begin, he pleaded guilty to one count of assault with intent to cause grave bodily harm less than murder. In exchange, a second charge of assault with intent to cause grave bodily harm, one count of unlawful confinement, and one case of domestic violence were dismissed.
