GREENACRES, Fla. (CBS12) — A John I. Leonard High School band volunteer allegedly confessed to a school district police officer that he had a personal relationship with a 16-year-old student months before sheriff’s detectives arrested him, according to a newly released probable cause affidavit.
Deputies say Camilo Ernesto Pina, 20, admitted during an August 2025 interview with a Palm Beach County School District Police officer that he had been involved with the student while working with the school’s marching band. The officer’s report states Pina initially denied the allegations but later acknowledged the relationship.
Investigators say the student separately disclosed that the relationship began in early 2025, during a period when Pina was volunteering with the band and later receiving monthly payments through the school’s band boosters before becoming a school employee…
