La VERGNE, TN (WGNS) – Drivers in La Vergne hit an unexpected snag Tuesday (2/17/2026) afternoon when police issued a traffic alert for Waldron Road—right as the evening commute was gearing up. The timing couldn’t have been worse for anyone trying to get home before dark.

Just before peak drive-time, officers responded to the 930 block of Waldron Road, where a vehicle had gone off the roadway. The situation forced police to shut down the area for several hours while they worked to safely manage the scene. A tow truck was brought in to remove the vehicle, and officers stayed on-site directing traffic and keeping the area secure.
