CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Madison County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to rezone 625 acres of agricultural land along Old Jackson Road for industrial use, approving a plan by the Madison County Economic Development Authority to build an advanced manufacturing technical park.
The vote passed 3-2, moving forward a project that has drawn heated opposition from residents who say the development will destroy their rural community.
