Police investigate early morning shooting near downtown library

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a shooting early Wednesday at a bus stop in front of the New Orleans Public Library on Loyola Avenue.

The shooting happened at about 12:40 a.m. Louisiana State Police, the New Orleans Police Department, and the Tulane University Police Department arrived at the scene. Officers found a victim who is not affiliated with the university. Emergency crews took the victim to a local hospital.

Police said the suspect left the scene before officers arrived. Law enforcement does not know the suspect’s identity. No arrest has been made. NOPD is leading the investigation…
