Fort Collins protest targets Flock license plate cameras

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Protesters gathered on Tuesday at College Avenue and Drake Road in Fort Collins to oppose the city’s use of license plate reading cameras operated by Flock. They met for about an hour before some people headed to the Fort Collins City Council meeting.

The group wants the city to end its contract with Flock. They say the cameras raise privacy concerns.

The timing is intentional. Next week, city council members will learn more about the city’s contract with Flock during a work session. The cameras are used by police to help track suspects in criminal investigations…
