Is your name on the list? | Ohio urges citizens to collect forgotten cash

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Commerce is urging residents to take a few minutes in February to search for forgotten cash as part of National Unclaimed Funds Month.

The state’s Division of Unclaimed Funds said in a news release Thursday that millions of dollars in dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, and forgotten utility deposits are waiting to be returned to its rightful owners.
