One person dead after being struck by vehicle on I-75 in Ohio

OHIO — A pedestrian died Thursday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 75 in central Toledo, according to police.

The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on I-75 between Nebraska and Indiana avenues. Police said the victim, a 38-year-old driver from West Virginia, had first been involved in a single-vehicle crash on northbound I-75.

After the crash, the driver fled the scene on foot, crossed over a concrete barrier to the southbound lanes and was then struck by a southbound commercial vehicle driven by a 43-year-old from Canada, police said…
