An Erie woman told city police that she had gotten her older children off to school on the morning of Feb. 12, then laid down to take a nap.
She said her two younger children usually lay down with her, and they get their own food when they feel like it while she sleeps, according to investigators.
But on that morning, according to police and information in a criminal complaint, the woman’s 5-year-old daughter was wandering around outside without shoes and pants after falling out of a second-story window.
