GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A call to action from Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand is gaining traction online. The post was an effort to get the community to help clear up the rest of the snow left over from a series of heavy snow days.
Snow piles like the ones still lining sidewalks in some neighborhoods may not look like much, but for some people — particularly pedestrians — they can be a significant obstacle.
“The snowplow always comes by and they plow a path, so you end up with a lump at the end of the block so your sidewalk can all be shoveled but then you get this lump from snowplow activity. Somebody needs to take care of that lump,” the mayor said in the post.
