Man accused of break-in, assault in Georgetown Twp. waives prelim exam

HUDSONVILLE — A man charged with five felonies related to an alleged break-in and assault waived his preliminary hearing Feb. 19 and has been bound over to Ottawa County’s 20th Circuit Court.

Jacarr Cox, 32 of Grand Rapids, allegedly broke into an apartment off Baldwin Street in Georgetown Township around 5:30 a.m. Jan. 8 and assaulted a 32-year-old woman he’d previously been in a relationship with. Police responded after receiving a 911 call from a child inside the residence, according to a release from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Cox was allegedly armed with a handgun, according to OCSO, and fled the scene as deputies arrived. There were three children in the home: a fourteen-year-old, a nine-year-old and a seven-month-old. All three were unharmed. The woman suffered minor injuries…
