Guilford County Schools employee reunited with coworkers, first responders who saved his life

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Five Guilford County Schools Transportation Garage employees were recognized Thursday after their quick thinking saved a coworker’s life earlier this month.

On Feb. 9, Mike Lee went into cardiac arrest shortly after arriving at work. Thanks to his coworkers, who began CPR and deployed an automated external defibrillator, Lee was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where he was released after a stay in the intensive care unit.

On Thursday, Lee, who is set to retire at the end of February, reunited with and thanked his coworkers for their efforts to save his life. The team was also presented with safety awards from Guilford County Schools, Guilford EMS and the Greensboro Fire Department…
