Former nonprofit COO pleads not guilty to stealing $130K in county funds meant for Narcan distribution

SAN DIEGO — A former executive of a San Diego nonprofit pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony charges accusing her of misappropriating more than $130,000 in public funds intended to combat the opioid epidemic.

Prosecutors allege Amy Knox, the former chief operating officer of Harm Reduction San Diego, used county grant money for personal expenses, including cosmetic plastic surgeries, trips to Hawaii and Disneyland, high-end clothing, utility bills and credit card payments.
