LINN COUNTY, Iowa — With winter weather in the forecast, plows will be back on the roads overnight. In Cedar Rapids, the trucks are ready for the storm.
“On an event like this, you know, we’re expecting the snow to begin after the evening commute into the later hours of the evening, which is actually a really good timing for us,” said Mike Duffy, assistant public works director for the City of Cedar Rapids. “It allows us to really fight the event on the overnight hours.”
Crews there say they aren’t going to pretreat the roads because rain would wash that away…
