TAYLOR, Texas — Former Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon, who stepped down from the Austin Police Department after a 25-year career, is one of four finalists to become the next chief of police in Taylor.
The City of Taylor has narrowed its search to four candidates as it seeks to permanently fill the position. The department has been led on an interim basis since Chief Henry Fluck retired last September.
The four finalists, listed alphabetically, are:
- Joseph Branson, currently serving as interim chief of the Taylor Police Department
- Joseph Chacon, currently Emergency Services Director for the City of Pflugerville and former chief of the Austin Police Department
- Albert Garcia, dean of technical education at South Plains College and former police chief in Levelland, Texas
- Johnny Siemens, chief of police for the Universal City Police Department
