The Verona Police Department (VPD) arrested a 35-year-old man for firing several rounds in the air with a semi-automatic handgun on Feb. 8.
According to a news release, officers were alerted to possible gunfire around the 400 block of West Verona Avenue that began around 6:50 a.m. The initial reporting party did not witness anyone firing any weapons; however, they spotted an individual acting suspiciously around 45 minutes later, which prompted them to call the police.
As officers canvassed the area, additional people approached and reported hearing gunfire that morning. Law enforcement identified the suspicious individual, but could not locate them at the time…
