Police arrest third minor tied to deadly shooting of Southeast Portland convenience store employee

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested a third minor connected to a shooting that killed a man while he was working at a Southeast Portland convenience store.

Officers responded on Dec. 9 to 3D’s Market on Southeast 139th Avenue in the Hazelwood neighborhood and found 33-year-old Santi Ram Rai with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Feb. 18, the Portland Police Bureau’s Special Emergency Reaction Team and Crisis Negotiation Team served an arrest warrant in the area of Southeast 84th Avenue and Southeast Beech Street. They arrested a 15-year-old boy on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was booked in the Donald E.
