For nearly 70 years, the Spokane Rock Rollers have been providing a community for rock hobbyists

When newcomers show up to the Spokane Rock Rollers’ clubhouse, many have pockets heavy with their favorite rocks in hopes that there’s something truly special in the mix.

“Like everybody, I had a collection of rocks that were memories that I picked up along the way,” says club member Adam Oberlander about when he joined in 2020. After joining, Oberlander got hooked on rockhounding and turned his finds into cabochons, the term for gemstones that are shaped and polished.

Tucked away in the Northpoint Business Park at 3915 E. Francis Ave., the club’s building encompasses a full lapidary (cutting and polishing), silversmithing and faceting shop…
