AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF)- College students in Augusta will soon get new off-campus housing.
Tuesday, Augusta commissioners approved a rezoning request for a student housing development in the Sandhills neighborhood. WJBF NewsChannel 6 talked to people who live in the area and opinions are mixed.
“Those are going to be our future, our doctors, nurses. We’re going to be able to help them have somewhat to live while they study. Somewhere safe,” said Veronica Bogans.
The student housing will be located in an empty lot at Weed Street and Wheeler Road. While it will be located near Augusta University, it will be available to any college student, not just AU students…
