(WPDE) — Changes to the South Carolina’s homestead tax exemption goes to the State’s House after passing in the Senate.
The bill increases the exemption from $50,000 to either $75,000 or $150,000 off a home’s fair market value, lowering assessments and property taxes for qualifying homeowners.
Those already receiving the exemption, including residents 65 and older, legally blind or totally disabled would be grandfathered in under the new amounts and could see their exemption increase…
