FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — February marks National Spay and Neuter Month, and the Fort Wayne Animal Control Center is urging pet owners to spay and neuter their pets. The shelter has experienced an increase in pregnant cats arriving, including a 4-month-old kitten.
Tyna Reiter, public information officer for the shelter, said that the influx is causing a strain.
“We remind people that having their pets spayed or neutered is healthy for the animal and it also reduces that pet overpopulation,” Reiter said…
