Maryville Board of Zoning Appeals denies proposal for 90 townhomes between Turnberry and Shannondale

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Maryville Board of Zoning Appeals denied a proposal for 90 attached townhouses between the Turnberry and Shannondale subdivisions. This comes after the Developer made a previous proposal for 68 single-family homes that was denied in October 2025.

The Board consisted of Clint Woodfin, Suzette Donovan, James Tomiczek, and Mike Brown, who all voted to oppose the proposal. However, Vice-Chair Donovan said this land will be developed; she just wasn’t pleased with this specific plan.

“There are other criteria that I think we need to consider,” Donovan said. “It poses a risk of public safety.”…
