(FOX40.COM) — A reckless driver crashed through a residential fence after attempting to flee from an officer who saw the vehicle run a red light, according to the Lathrop Police Department.
Lathrop police said an officer noticed a vehicle run a red light and was driving recklessly. As the officer made a U-turn to initiate a traffic stop, the driver attempted to flee the area.
LPD reported that due to the suspect’s reckless actions, the vehicle crashed at the intersection of McKee and Johnson Ferry Road, taking out a stop sign before coming to rest. The officer arrived at the scene and safely ordered the driver out of the car.
After the driver was out of the vehicle, LPD said the officer placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on multiple charges. The car was towed and placed on a 30-day hold.
