MNPD: Shooting victim arrested on 19 charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A January shooting victim has been arrested on 19 charges, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said 37-year-old Lamont Havis Sr. was shot on Jan. 15. His 17-year-old son took him to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital after he suffered a wound to the shoulder while sitting in his Infiniti.

According to the MNPD, Havis’ 17-year-old son was arrested on unrelated, outstanding warrants, and he was also found with 30 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Further investigation led to a search warrant of Havis’ home. Havis is a convicted felon, and he was found with about 10 pounds of marijuana, nine firearms including one with a switch to make it fully automatic, and two stolen vehicles at the home, according to the MNPD.

Police said the MNPD’s TITANS Unit detectives arrested Havis at Cedar Hill Park on Thursday after warrants were obtained for his arrest. He reportedly had more than five pounds of marijuana when he was arrested…
