MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Murfreesboro Police Department revealed some new insights about crime year-over-year.
The department responded to more than 115,000 calls last year — up more than 4% from the previous year, according to data from their Crime Analysis Unit. However, data also shows “Part 1 offenses” — or serious offenses including homicide, robbery and assault — dropped by 20%.
“Seeing these crime trends go down, of course, should be very encouraging for all of us,” Ryan Lawrence, Crime Analysis Unit supervisor for the MPD, told News 2.
