Overnight Tacony Feud Erupts in Gunfire, Woman Wounded and Two Cuffed

A long-running neighborhood feud in Philadelphia’s Tacony section boiled over before dawn Thursday, leaving a 34-year-old woman wounded and two people in police custody, including her own son.

Police say the woman was shot on the 7100 block of Walker Street near Wellington Street around 2:30 a.m. and was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. Officers later detained a woman suspected in the shooting and also took the victim’s son into custody on separate gun charges.

According to NBC10, Chief Inspector Scott Small said the victim was hit in the lower abdomen. Investigators tracked down a woman in her early 20s at a nearby address and recovered a firearm from her when she was taken into custody. At the scene, police collected 11 spent shell casings from two different calibers, which raised the possibility that more than one weapon was fired and that the incident may have involved an exchange of gunfire…
