General Dynamics Electric Boat is more than doubling worker recruitment in Rhode Island and Connecticut as it ramps up construction of new nuclear submarines.
The submarine maker wants to hire 8,000 workers at all locations this year, 3,500 of them at its Quonset Point plant in North Kingstown, the company and U.S. Sen. Jack Reed confirmed Thursday, Feb. 19.
