ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Franklin County has approved construction of 103 new homes in Westlake, near Smith Mountain Lake.
The 103-home project is a second phase of a housing development in the area. The first focused on townhomes and condos, and was approved last year. The project also includes walking paths and is meant to be walkable between the current amenities in Westlake Town Center and a resident’s home.
“This really is a game changer for Westlake Town Center because you have a true walkable community now with condominiums, townhouses, and single-family houses,” said ABoone developer Alexander Boone. “You haven’t had much new housing built in Franklin County in decades.”…
