Man pursued by ICE in fatal crash appears to have no prior criminal history

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – The man charged with vehicular homicide in the death of a Savannah teacher appears to have had no prior criminal history at the time of the fatal crash.

Oscar Vasquez-Lopez was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide following Monday’s crash that killed Hesse K-8 teacher Dr. Linda Davis. The crash occurred while Vasquez-Lopez was fleeing from ICE agents.

No criminal record found

WTOC Investigates found no charges against Lopez in Georgia, South Carolina, or federal courts. When asked about Lopez’s criminal history, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said there is “no additional information available right now.”

Vasquez-Lopez remains in the Chatham County jail under an ICE hold.
