State’s newest judge: “Listening comes first”

BOSTON (SHNS) – The Governor’s Council unanimously confirmed trial lawyer and Charlestown native Paul Anthony as a District Court justice Wednesday.

Anthony has run a solo law practice in Stoneham for nearly three decades, with a “significant” share of his work representing clients on a pro bono basis, according to Gov. Maura Healey’s office. Healey earlier this month nominated Anthony, who earned his law degree from the Massachusetts School of Law.

At his confirmation hearing last week, Anthony recalled growing up in public housing and his parents working “tirelessly to keep us off welfare.”…
