City of Bakersfield plans 3 new public safety radio towers

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield is planning to build new upgraded towers to enhance communication among its public safety agencies, according to the Bakersfield Planning Commission agenda for Thursday.

The city applied to build three lattice wireless communication towers at three separate locations in Bakersfield through Scout Services, a commercial permit expediter based in Illinois.

The first proposed tower is slated to be 150 feet tall and built in the maintenance yard at the city’s Water Resources Department site at 1000 Buena Vista Road, according to the agenda.

The second tower is set to be 195 feet tall and built in the city’s landfill site in northeast Bakersfield, in the north side of Panorama Drive and Columbus Street, the agenda said…
