MATTHEWS, N.C. — A Matthews woman faces a felony assault charge after allegedly striking a man with a vehicle in a parking lot following a domestic dispute, the Matthews Police Department said Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 8:25 p.m. in the parking lot along East Independence Blvd. The Union County Sheriff’s Office first alerted Matthews Police after deputies located an injured man who they believed had been struck by a vehicle. Due to the severity of his injuries, the man was airlifted for medical treatment. He is listed in stable condition.
