Area wrestlers advance to state boys semis with two wins on Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. (KNOP) – Twenty-six wrestlers from the area finished day one of the Nebraska boys state wrestling tournament with 2-0 records to earn trips to the state semi-finals on Friday.

North Platte led the way as the Bulldogs had four wrestlers earn trips to the semi-final round. Keeghan Clouse (A-165), Kirk Wilson (A-144), Ty Haneborg (A-126) and Will Rathjen (A-215) all advanced for North Platte.

Other area schools also sent wrestlers to the semi-final round. St. Pat’s advanced Breckyn Collins (D-165), while Maxwell sent Trevor Manka (D-190) and Sutherland advanced Scotty Andersen (D-138)…
