Food On The Move expands grocery bags for Tulsa families

TULSA, Okla. – Food On The Move is preparing to distribute more balanced grocery bags to Tulsa families during its upcoming Food and Resource Festival.

The nonprofit says volunteers are packing more than 300 grocery bags ahead of the event. New this year, each bag will include a variety of protein, dairy or shelf stable items in addition to fresh produce.

Organizers say the change reflects the needs of families who may not have easy access to a grocery store and need more options to prepare complete meals at home.
