St. Pius teacher fired after being accused of getting into a ‘physical altercation’ with student

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque teacher is out of a job, accused of threatening and then grabbing a student during a physical altercation. That teacher is now facing a battery charge.

On December 12, 2025, Albuquerque police received a call at St. Pius X School about a fight between a student and a teacher. When officers arrived, they said band teacher Keith Jordan and the student were waiting in separate offices. Jordan had a black eye, while the student had a scratch on his hand.

According to a criminal complaint, Jordan said several students caused a scene during a movie, making noise and shining bright lights with their iPads. The complaint states that Jordan took one of the students’ tablets, flung it against the wall, and then grabbed the student by the collar…
