Addiction treatment facility reopening with $1M in renovations, 50 beds in Lehigh Valley

A residential addiction treatment facility in Allentown will celebrate its grand reopening Friday after a $1 million renovation funded by opioid settlement dollars prevented the permanent loss of critical treatment beds in Lehigh County.

Treatment Trends Allentown Residential will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 18 S. Sixth St. The facility, formerly known as Keenan House, closed in June 2024 due to aging infrastructure and escalating maintenance costs.

According to a press release from Lehigh County, District Attorney Gavin Holihan identified an unspent grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs shortly after taking office.
