Traffic Alert: I-270 Ramp Meters to Be Fully Operational Beginning February 24

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration announced that new ramp metering systems will become fully operational on 16 northbound Interstate 270 ramps in Frederick and Montgomery counties starting Tuesday, February 24, weather permitting.

The system is part of the I-270 Innovative Congestion Management Project, which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel reliability along the 34.4-mile corridor between I-70 and I-495.
