15-Year-Old Cyclist Dies After Failing to Stop at Intersection

A 15-year-old girl died after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle in Southampton Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The fatal collision occurred on Sunday afternoon (February 15) at the intersection of Baltimore Road and Cleversburg Road.

According to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police, the teenage cyclist was traveling westbound on Cleversburg Road around 1:30 p.m. when she failed to obey a stop sign at the intersection. The vehicle that struck her reportedly did not have time to slow down.

State Police investigators noted that while the cyclist faced a stop sign at the intersection, the driver did not have one. Following the collision, the teenager was transported to Hershey Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries…
