DNA technique being used to find Nancy Guthrie also used to convict Spartanburg County rapist

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – As the search for Nancy Guthrie extends into day 20, investigators are now turning to a technique called genetic genealogy to find those responsible for her disappearance.

The FBI tested DNA found in Guthrie’s house and in a glove found two miles from her house but were unable to find a match.

They are now using the DNA samples to identify genetic matches in the hopes of finding relatives of the unknown suspect…
