KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Actor and stunt performer Johnny Knoxville released a limited-edition merchandise collection on Friday to raise money for his alma mater, South-Doyle High School.
Knoxville told 6 News that his childhood friend, Randy Moore, who is now the athletic director at South Doyle, reached out for help for their weight room, he was happy to be able to help.
“I went to South Young, and they combined South Young and Doyle. And it’s a wonderful school. It’s underfunded. And I’m just trying to help them in any way I can,” Knoxville said. “I’ve known [Moore] since we were 9 years old. And he’s went on to become a wonderful coach and person in the community. And when he asked me for some help, I was honored, especially to a school that was from South Knoxville, where I’m from. So I’m in a very fortunate position to be able to help.”
